PASMO

You would come to Japan, you should buy a Pasmo that is a prepaid card for a subway, JR line and bus.

You can use a card  not only for transpotation system, but also for buying something at a convenience store.

It’s very useful. You can buy one at a station.

Godzilla

If you want to see Godzilla(ゴジラ-gojira in Japanese), you have to go to Hibiya.
It's five minutes walk from Hibiya station(Tokyo Metro Ginza line, Yurakucho Line or Hibiya Line). You can also get there from Yurakucho station JR Yamanote Line.

It looks like it's going to start moving at any moment.

Onigiri

These are famous Japanese food. We say “Onigiri”.  Maybe rice ball in English.

There are many kind of ingredients inside Onigiri. The ingredients in the picture above are kombu(こんぶ) and salted salmon(しゃけ-Shake). I love katsuobushi(かつお節), too.

However these onigiri sold at a convenience store are made by onigiri machine. Our traditional onigiri have to be made by hands. Especially if made by mother's hands, it is great!

If you have a chance to go to Asakusa , why don’t you stop by the onigiri restaurant below.

You can find the difference easily between machine and hands.

Hot spring bath powder

I found a bath powder in my house. It seems that my daughter got it from her friend.
Most Japanese like Onsen because we can relax and enjoy a natural landscape.

I don't expect a good scenery, but I can warm my body more than usual tonight.
By the way, We Japanese use water for a bath every day and pay average 5,000 yen (about $47) per month for the water charges. ( of course it's not only for bath tub)
I wonder if how much people who live in another country pay for water charges.

Kashiwa mochi

This is a Kashiwa mochi(かしわ餅). There is anko(あんこ) in a mochi, so anko is sweet red bean paste. It is difficult to explain Japanese food correctly.
You can buy Kashiwa mochi at a convenience store, but you have to find a traditional wagashi-ya(和菓子屋) to eat a very delicious Kashiwa mochi. Please check the store with google.

Kani no tane

This is a famous Japanese rice snack, Kaki no tane. There are various flavors of "Kaki no tane".(pepper, wasabi, etc)

The flavor in the picture is Ume flavor. Normally ume is very sour, but this snack is not so sour. You can buy one at a convenience store or a super market in Japan. One more thing, we usually call "Kaki no tane" "Kakipi", so if you can't find the snack in a store, "Kakipi arimasu ka?" in Japanese.

Please try it!
